Nevine Michaan
I was naturally drawn to meditation and the study of religion, in college. Afterwards, I had the good fortune to begin studying Iyengar-based Yoga under the auspices of teacher Alan Bateman, in New York. From the start, I was interested in the confluence of Yoga, Confucianism, and Taoist theory, and saw in them a natural complementarity. My fascination with sacred Geometry grew out of that confluence, as did my understanding of the importance of setting the asanas of Yoga upon a radiant mental compass which allows sustained study and imaginative deepening of the form. The goal of my work is the attainment of skillful, well-adjusted dialogue between the self and the world taking place around it.
