“I loved Ellen's Workshop. The workshop gave me much more confidence in my teaching and a map for how to design and present my class.” - Leydin Kotapish
Making the transition from being certified and understanding yoga techniques conceptually and physically -- to teaching it -- is a big step. This teaching technique class is a place to hone your skills as a teacher, find your voice, work on designing and creating a class, and find the way you teach best.
How do you demonstrate and lead a class?
How do you give specific insights or corrections and keep the class going?
How do you use words to cue the class?
How do you give images, use metaphors and keep the class engaged physically and intellectually?
Do you memorize what you want to do - or are you a go with the flow type of teacher?
Do you project your voice well?
Are your instructions clear?
Are you comfortable with your adjustment skills?
How can you get off your mat to help give adjustments and insights to the students while still keeping the class moving?
In our small group you will find a safe environment in which you can practice finding your teaching voice, practice designing and cueing sequences, and learn how to lead the class in a thoughtful manner. This class will be filled with positive and constructive feedback as we take time for each participant to teach in many small sequences.
Please come prepared with a 1 - 2 min sequence to teach to the group.
