A 30 Hour Teacher Training Intensive

KATONAH YOGA® accredited education

Yoga can be radical and revelatory. Saturate yourself in the development of a versatile practice

that can be translated and augmented through whatever yoga you already know. Learn how to

use props, straps, and adjustments to evolve your practice and teaching. Confidence is based

on competency, which is rooted in experience and repetition. Gain confidence, refine your

practice, amplify your techniques.

This training is offered to teachers and dedicated practitioners, craving an embodied approach

to learning Katonah Yoga. Katonah Yoga articulates a philosophy of the body that is both formal

and informative. Alignment focused, theory forward, this training will give students new insights

into yoga to become well adjusted and well informed.

We will cover:

" Katonah Yoga theory and practice: asana, pranayama, meditation

" Maps and Materials: Katonah Yoga’s charts and glyphs, including the Magic Square and

subtle body techniques (Wraps for Rapture)

" Body readings/diagnostics

" Hands-on Adjustments, modifications for injuries, elders / sensitive students, addressing

pain, injury, fear and fragility.

" Language and metaphors: how to articulate Katonah Yoga theory to students

" Working with props: straps, blocks, chairs, poles, sandbags and their substitutes

" Restorative, pranayama, and longevity practices

Who:

Dages Juvelier Keates:

https://www.dagesjuvelierkeates.com/about/

As a teacher, Dages prizes clarity, compassion and depth of practice. She emphasizes open

transmission of knowledge and draws from a wide and various background in yoga, dance,

herbalism, language arts, and academic theory.

Raised in Jackson Hole, WY, Dages attended Bard College, where she received a BA in Dance.

Undertaking formal yoga studies in 2002, she earned accreditations in both the Bihar and

Kundalini lineages. These models of interiority led her to a study of her own lineage of Judaism,

and yielded time spent absorbed in Jewish study and extended stays in Jerusalem’s Ultra-

Orthodox seminaries. Dages enrolled in graduate school in 2010 to study feminist, queer, and

psychoanalytic theories. She attained her M.A. in interdisciplinary gender and performance

studies from NYU.

Her syncratic teaching style has been profoundly impacted by immersion in studies with her

mentor Nevine Michaan, founder of Katonah Yoga. Recent collaborations include a series of

workshops with Elena Brower pairing pranayama and aromatherapy, and retreats and trainings

in Bali, Canada, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Panama, Morocco, Spain

and Switzerland. Dages regularly contributes to teacher teacher trainings with The Sacred Fig,

SKY TING, The Studio, and Katonah Yoga Center. She has just released her first book in

collaborating with SKY TING, “Radical Acts of Embodiment: Teaching and Practices of Katonah

Yoga.” Dages resides and writes in Paris and teaches internationally.

Testimonials:

“Dages is a master of both Katonah material and teaching in general. I felt like I received 15

hours of personal therapeutic attention from both Dages and my fellow students - all so eager

learn the material and practice on each other. What a truly magical and enlightening weekend.

More, please!”

“Whether your goal is to improve the experience for your existing clients or take on your very

first one, you will absolutely walk away from this program with tools and confidence to do so!

Having the opportunity to tap into Dages' extensive experience and her passion for sharing all

she knows is invaluable. The set-up of the program was both professional and extremely

productive; from the high quality materials to the vast amount of hands on practice each student

was able to experience.”

"This training exceeded my expectations on so many levels. The wealth of knowledge and

passion that Dages has for this practice is undeniable. This training will expand not only your

teaching, but the lens in which you see the World."

“I highly recommend this training module with Dages. I left feeling empowered and filled with

practical knowledge on how to give a therapeutic private. I was thoroughly impressed with the

structure of the weekend and well Dages time-managed each day. Dages expanded my

imagination of what a "yoga practice" looks like and how everybody and every mind can benefit

from these therapeutic poses and breath work.”

“The Teaching the Therapeutic Private training with Dages was an incredible experience. We

learned practical, applicable tools for working with students one-on-one, and were immersed

into the magic of Katonah yoga theory. The work was profoundly deep and yet playful.

Especially as a vinyasa teacher who primarily teaches group classes, I learned so much and

feel so much better equipped to teach privates. I can't recommend this training enough.”

Students will leave this training full of new information, both embodied and theoretical, for

amplifying their practice and teaching others. Katonah Yoga concepts easily translate and

augment other styles of yoga practice. We hope that participants will be inspired to overlay our

syncretic material with the lineage they already have mastered. This training is intended to

invigorate and stimulate one's teacherly creativity, as well as give people an experience of a

bold, dynamic body of theory.
