Breath Magic - A 10-Hour Intensive for Yoga Teachers
Transform your understanding of breath work to accessible, playable daily practice. This weekend intensive gives yoga teachers a complete system for teaching breathwork through the innovative Breath Magic card deck—a 54-card system organized by visibility and audibility rather than emotional outcomes.
Learn to guide students in choosing practices appropriate to their needs AND their environment—from dynamic private practices to completely invisible "stealth self-care" techniques deployable in meetings, on transit, or during difficult conversations.
This training moves beyond traditional pranayama instruction to address the contemporary reality: your students need practices they can actually use in their real lives, not just on the mat. You'll leave with concrete teaching skills, ready-to-use class plans, and the language to make breathwork radically accessible to modern practitioners navigating the attention economy.
Over three days, we'll work through all five suits of the Breath Magic system—Catch Fire, Chill Out, SOS, Sneak Your Technique, and Wild Cards —exploring dozens of techniques, understanding their mechanisms, and learning how to sequence them for different populations and contexts.
This training counts toward 10 hours of Katonah Yoga teacher certification.
What’s included:
Materials:
Breath Magic: Portals to Presence card deck (54 cards)
Breath Magic: Portals to Presence book by Dages Juvelier Keates
Video replays (7 days )
Training Components:
10 hours of live instruction via Zoom
Experiential practice of 30+ breath techniques across all five suits
Teaching methodology and cueing practices
Breakout teaching labs with feedback
Scenario-based application training
Post-training community access
By the end of this training, you'll know how to sequence breathwork for different times of day, energy states, and populations, and how to adapt traditional breath techniques for contemporary contexts like work, commuting, and public spaces. The training will equip you to design custom breath protocols for specific scenarios including sleep, focus, anxiety, and creative blocks, and integrate the Breath Magic card system into your existing teaching. You'll leave ready to offer standalone breath workshops and teacher trainings, and apply Katonah Yoga's methodology to breath practice.
