Friday August 28th
10:00 - 1p
Saturday & Sunday August 29th + 30th
10:00a - 1:30p
all hours EST
In this 10-hour immersion, we will explore the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a lens for informing asana and pranayama practice. We are part of nature, and as nature moves through the seasons, we have a unique opportunity to engage with each season through the elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
Each session will include an overview of the elements, their associated seasons, organs, emotions, qualities, and common imbalances, along with how these themes can be explored through the Katonah Yoga practice. We’ll also have time for a full practice each session, as well as space to reflect, share, and discuss.
This immersion is designed for both practitioners and teachers. Students can expect to deepen their understanding of the Five Elements and how their qualities can be embodied through practice. Teachers will also leave with fresh inspiration for sequencing classes in harmony with the seasons.
