Restorative yoga is a practice of opening the body while resetting and regulating the nervous system. It’s about centering into the present moment, holding ground in order to expand. 

In this 5-hour training with Alice York, we’ll explore using external supports – such as blocks and bolsters – to boost internal wellbeing. Through supported poses and breathing and meditation techniques, we’ll organize the body and mind, creating space for insight and intentions towards the year ahead. 

In addition to learning the fundamentals of the practice (its framework, philosophy, and history) and key postures and their variations, we’ll carry the idea of renewal off the mat, using the deep and reflective nature of the practice to spark ideas and plans through journaling and visualization.

This training is both professionally and personally oriented: whether you want to utilize the material to expand your teaching or simply resolve to approach yourself more tenderly this year, this offering is designed for both teachers and students of yoga, and any and all levels of the practice.
