A group class is like playing for the symphony. A private session is like tuning the instrument. This weekend workshop with Dages Juvelier Keates is designed for yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners who wish to deepen their ability to support others through safe adjustments, creative use of props, and therapeutic one-on-one work.
Core Structures for Privates
How to organize a private session to offer the best of your material
Adjustments & Architecture
Techniques for stabilizing and opening the body—arms, hips, spine, sacrum, scapula—through clear touch, traction, and alignment.
Props as Allies
Sandbags, straps, chairs, blocks, poles (and their substitutes) used to create support, pressure, and spaciousness.
Working with Vulnerability
Approaches for older students, injuries, or limited mobility—making yoga safe and empowering for every body.
Katonah Theory in Practice
Translating Katonah Yoga’s maps and metaphors into accessible, therapeutic language.
Breath and body are always present. With skill and imagination, adjustments and props become tools to anchor safety, reveal stability, and expand possibility. You’ll learn not only “what to do” but also how to cultivate a space where students feel supported, curious, and more at home in their own bodies.
